Apple Pie: Healthy Version

Apple pie is a delicious desert that everybody loves. When you are the only one "eating healthy " in the family you can substitute a regular apple pie with a healthy oatmeal one and no one will be complaining! Just don't tell them of course;) Just kidding! There is a difference in taste to the 'normal' sweet and pastry filled dish, However it is not a bad one. It has a clean taste with a hint of sweetness that doesn't leave you feeling thirsty or sick! 



The recipe 

Ingredients 
  • 2 cups of oats
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder 
  • 1/3 a teaspoon of salt 
  • Raisins (amount depends on how much you want)
  • 2 Apples or an apple and a pear 
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence 
  • a teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 and 3/4 cups of milk 
  • 2 eggs 
For toppings: (optional) 
  • honey
  • peanut butter
  • banana
  • Cinnamon
  • Apple 
This 'desert' can even replace breakfast. Just add milk and bananas and it makes for a delicious bowl of apple pie.

Instructions 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Add all of the dry ingredients into a bowl
  3. Once all the dry ingredients are in the bowl, add the milk and, vanilla essence, eggs, raisins.
  4. Stir all of the ingredients in the bowl AND put aside to soak
  5. Chop up the fruit 
  6. Add the fruit and stir.
  7. Place the mixture into a greased bowl and bake for 40 minutes.
  8.  Take it out the oven and cut into slices!
  9. Add toppings

Advice!!

So.. I am thinking of selling my Matric dance dress but I am stuck on making a final decision! I have weighed out the "Why's" and "Why NOT'S" down below. This is why I want to sell it : #1 I don't think I am ever going to wear it again #2 I can make some money from it #3 It is just chilling in my room. Okay, now this is why I do not want to sell it : #1 It is SO damn pretty! #2 Matric Dance is kind of a huge deal and the biggest night of your high school life and it is a reminder of that one special night.
